Why did you start the Traineeship?
Initially, I tried getting into the software industry by teaching myself how to code. I progressed a lot but reached a plateau. I kept second guessing the types of projects employers were looking for and needed direction, so I applied for ITCareerSwitch. I also noticed that ITCareerSwitch were successfully helping others land a job during the first COVID lockdown which further convinced me.
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
The two projects were definitely the most enjoyable part of the traineeship. I felt the projects help me progress fast and cement the important aspects of software development really well in addition to providing a real taster of working in the industry.
What's your current role like?
My current role as an Application Developer is great. I get to solve problems every day, focusing on automating tasks which is very satisfying. The job is remote, flexible and allows me to add some real value to the company.
