Microsoft MCSA 2016 (Step 4)

Cisco CCNP (Step 4)

Step 1 - Courses & internal exam

Complete a selection of professional, accredited and industry recognised IT courses by CompTIA, Microsoft and Cisco. The training is delivered via multimedia rich video tutorials, presentations and quizzes, through a portal that you study from home.

You can log into the portal at anytime, meaning this can be completed around any full time job. The emphasis of Step 1 is to learn all of the theory before beginning practical training. This takes around six weeks of full-time study or twelve weeks of part-time study to complete.

At the end of Step 1 you will sit a short online multiple choice exam to showcase your understanding of the courses before moving onto Step 2.

Step 2 - Livelab

Our cutting edge live lab will give you the practical hands-on training that you will require from the comfort of your own home. Live-Lab is real computer equipment networked together and conveniently accessible over the internet.

Our hosted platforms are configured to imitate real world configurations by providing sufficient hardware not only to carry out tasks, but also test the impact of those changes. From the browser you gain administrative access to the relevant devices giving you complete control to carry out either your own configurations or follow the lab guides to configure specific technologies that are required for the relevant CompTIA exams.

Step 3 - Cisco CCNA Exams

You will finally be prepared for the official Cisco CCNA Certifications. We will firstly release extensive mock tests for you to practice on and once you are ready we will book your official exams.

Cisco are international leaders in IT certifications and having the Cisco CCNA+ will not only qualify you as an IT professional in the UK but across the globe.

The exam is one exam lasting 120minutes long.

Step 4 - Network Engineer Training + Job Placement

Once you have completed the initial three steps, we will then place you into your first role as either an IT Technician/IT Support specialist, with a starting salary of anywhere between £24k-£45k.

While working within this position, we will release Step 4 of your training which is specifically designed to qualify you to move into the Networking sector. You will have two years access to complete Step 4, which consists of Networking courses, Live lab and official CCNA exam, as outlined below.

Once you have gained the two years experience within the IT industry, as well as completing step 4 of your training, we can then place you into a role as a Network Engineer.

Networking Courses

Your second batch of courses are specifically designed to give you the knowledge, skills and certifications required to move into a Network Engineer role, this will happen once you have the required two years experience working as a Technician.

You will be completing the following courses;

–  CompTIA Cloud+

–  Microsoft Server 2016

–  Cisco CCNP

Live Lab

While working in your IT Technician role you will be able to gain some valuable hands-on experience. Our hosted Cisco hardware is based on widely deployed Cisco products including Cisco 2900 series routers and 3750 series layer 3 switches and ASA5512x firewalls (see hardware list for complete listing of the products in the lab).

From the browser you gain access to the console port of each of the devices giving you complete control to carry out either your own configurations, or follow the lab guides to configure specific technologies that are required for the relevant Cisco exams.

Cisco CCNP Exam

The final step is the official Cisco CCNP exam.

Implementing Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies v1.0 (ENCOR350-401) is a 120-minute exam associated with the CNP and CCIE Enterprise Certifications. This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of implementing core enterprise network technologies including dual-stack(IPv4 and IPv6) architecture, virtualization, infrastructure, network assurance, security, and automation.

The exam will be sat at your local Pearson Vue testing centre.

Success Stories

The support throughout as well as the quantity and quality of the training content is nothing short of impressive. From start to finish and even after finding you a job they are one call or E-mail away. Everyone can throw a bunch of online courses your way and leave you to it, but this traineeship offers so much more than that. As an IT Engineer at Fujitsu, my role mostly involves working closely with a huge variety of clients. It’s very challenging and fulfilling at the same time. I think it has opened the doors to a world of opportunities in the industry.

Georgi ShterevIT Engineer @ Fujitsu UK

I think the inclusion of the CompTIA A+ exams makes it a very attractive package. The exams consolidated much of what I learned in the video courses, in topics such as hardware, networking, security and troubleshooting, and are a well-known qualification in the industry. I work in a busy IT department in a charitable organisation and support a large number of end users. Although it can be pretty intense, it’s a rewarding role and I’m constantly learning new skills.

Robin KilsbyICT Service Desk Analyst @ Nacro

Octopus is a forward-thinking company who is keen to promote internally along flexible career pathways. They were interested in my CV because of the CV-rebuild and my background in customer service. I wouldn’t have been able to pass the interview stage without the knowledge I gained from the Traineeship (I distinctly remember being asked in my first interview what DHCP stood for, and I easily chirped “Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol!”). I see myself still working for and advancing within Octopus over the next five years.
