Why did you start the Traineeship?
I started the traineeship because I was keen to start a career in IT and particularly in cybersecurity. ITCareerSwitch’s course was very reasonably priced and the job guarantee was appealing as well as the support from the tutors as this was a fresh subject to me (aside from my personal interest in computers).
What did you enjoy most about the Traineeship?
I have to say that what I most enjoyed was getting stuck in and really expanding my knowledge in fields I have been interested in for years. Some parts were tough, and some were drier than others! But it was really interesting and by sticking at it and doing a set amount a day I was able to complete all the modules and pass my exam.
What's your current role like?
My current role as a 1st Line Engineer is very rewarding. I am learning huge amounts on the job-specific to certain software etc at a MSP (managed service provider). As we look after the IT needs of many companies the issues are varied – again great for me to learn!
