Step 1 - Intro to Development

Complete a selection of professional and industry recognised coding courses covering HTML, CSS and Javascript. The training is delivered via multimedia rich video tutorials, presentations and quizzes, accessed through a portal that you can study on from home.

You can log into the portal at any time, meaning this can be completed around any full-time job. The emphasis of Step 1 is to get an introductory understanding of the key front end programming languages before moving onto the Full-Stack Development training in Step 2. This takes around 2 weeks of full-time study or four weeks of part-time study to complete.

Step 2 - Full-Stack Development

Step 2 builds upon step 1 where you will be studying the front end programming languages in more depth along with all the back end coding languages that are key to become a Full-Stack Developer. This part is heavily focused on the practical element of learning as you will be completing mini-projects where you can practice your coding skills as you study through the material.

By the end of this phase of the training, you will be confident in using a full-stack range of programming languages and be in the position to complete your Independent projects assigned by your Tutor later in the Traineeship. This phase will take around 10 weeks of full-time study or 20 weeks of part-time study.

At the end of this step, you will sit a short online multiple-choice exam to showcase your understanding of the courses before moving onto Step 3

Step 3 - Official Microsoft Exam

At this point, you will be prepared to go and sit the official Microsoft 98-383 exam – Introduction to programming using HTML and CSS. Our student care team will arrange for you to practice on some official mock tests before scheduling the exam at your local Pearson Vue testing centre.

This certification is recognised worldwide and will be a great addition to your CV. It will show employers that you have a professional, industry-recognized level of knowledge in the front end programming languages.

Step 4 - Projects & Portfolio

This is the final but most important step of the Traineeship. Here your Tutor will assign you two independent projects to complete whilst providing guidance and support throughout to ensure they are of a high industry standard. The projects play the most important part of the hiring process as it accumulates all the skills you have learned into working projects for employers to view your level of programming ability and flair.

These projects will then be displayed on your portfolio website along with your biography (bio) of programming skills, Github work, Microsoft Certification, and other relevant info that will showcase your new skills as a newly fledged Full-Stack Developer.

Once you have completed all of the mandatory training, which includes the online courses, practical projects, and building your own portfolio, we will place you into a Web Development/Software Development role, where you will be guaranteed a starting salary of £25K-£40K.

In addition, you will liaise with a wide range of users to determine business requirements, demonstrate applications and train staff in their use.

  • Developing & maintaining critical internal software applications to support the business
  • See initiatives through the software development lifecycle from specification, through implementation and testing, to final deployment and ongoing maintenance
